Our Newest Contribution
If you have been to the library lately, you may have noticed a new book shelf in the children's area. This shelf was purchased by the Friends. We are currently working toward providing additional shelving for the library. Continued support from our community is always appreciated.
Disc-Go-Devil
The Friends have recently purchased a Disc-Go-Devil. This device will enable the library staff to repair DVDs and audio discs. A great deal of the library budget goes to purchase Audio book and to build the DVD collection. With this machine, the library staff will be able to keep the discs repaired and save the cost of replacements.
If you have been in the library recentily, you may have noticed an additional patron computer. This is another item that the Friends were able to purchase for the library. It is with the continued support of our community that we can continue to support the library.
Previous Contributions
The funds the Friends have raised, have gone to support several library projects. These include:
- Computers for public use
- Staff computers
- Food for children's programming events
- Rugs
- Shelving
- Outdoor sign for the library
- DVDs
- T-shirts for the reading program
- Laser printer
- Die-cut machine
- LCD projector and lap top
Future Contributions
The Gretna Friends of the Library is provided with a wish list compiled by the library staff. We do our best to raise the funds to purchase the items on the list. Our group provides many extras that cannot be covered by the library budget. We believe it is important that the library continue to purchase books and other materials for public use. We will continue to raise funds to provide the "extras". Currently on the list are a display case and another computer. Please contact a member if you would like to support us with our mission.
